Mark Ravenhills new play was preceded by rumbling minimalist music – maybe suggesting menace or tension? It was played in the round by two women in swimsuits and a man in gold boxers and a shabby vest. The dialogue consisted of fragmented phrases, tossed between and repeated by the characters, but with many nouns missing.

Watching this play was like trying to do a jigsaw puzzle with many of the most important bits missing, in the hopes of making some sense of what is going on… have these people forgotten the words for things, or are they avoiding naming them? Various situations and explanations are suggested and then turned on their heads. Whose version is the truth? What is real and what is not? Is at all in the imagination? Does a persons life become what they imagine it to be? What happens when the imagined lives conflict with each other?

It was a good production; the actors were decent; the audience applauded. At the end I was still mystified by the whole thing. Maybe that is the point? Go and decide for yourself!
